I am currently stuck between two ideas, the idea of male and female sexuality and gender roles or the idea of deterioration. I am leaning more towards the sexuality concept. My plan is to photograph men and women doing their typical tasks but to focus on the portrayal of men and women in these tasks. How women are seen and used as sexual objects while men's sexuality focuses on masculinity. Being that Florida is one of the party states of the U.S. we often see young teenagers who fall into this trap of sexuality. From spring breakers enjoying Miami Beach to your everyday thrill seekers men and women are viewed different in society, in the world, and especially in Florida. Growing up and living in Miami my entire life I've witnessed things that were considered gender specific and it intrigued me from the prostitutes, typically female, to the all american athletes, typically male. I want to explore this idea in greater detail. My other idea about deterioration was basically focuses on how floridians behave and react to their own environment and how the things that they're doing are killing the environment we live in. I was going to photograph road kill, trash heaps, pollution, and basically anything that could be seen as human induced.
