unfortunately my contact sheet maker stopped working correctly for some reason, so i was unable to create a contact sheet, although i am looking into other programs for creating one.
Proposal:
I have chosen the theme of trans visibility in a university setting for my project. Navigating a public space, especially a university can be stress-inducing at best, and dangerous at worst, for transgender individuals (though particularly for designated male at birth, or DMAB, trans folk). Being visibly gender-nonconforming can attract attention and increase the already present pressures to present oneself at one of the binary ends of gender presentation, or to remain closeted in one's identity. In my project I have chosen to portray trans individuals for my project, including myself, in positions of gender expression, particularly in reclaiming aspects of our identities we have been denied. However, since I am not certain of the number of trans individuals willing to participate in my project, cisgender individuals may also be photographed for this project if their gender presentation is incongruous with what is expected of them given their gender identity.
